In the interest of public transparency, we will begin to publish some of the legal documents filed in the Onlaska City Court regarding the actions being taken against Kevin Kirchmer, a local contractor.

The most blaring and blatant violation of the law seems to be in City Judge Mayer also being a Justice of the Peace in Polk Co.  Here is the language of the constitutional prohibition of that practice:

In Texas, it is generally not permissible for a municipal judge to simultaneously serve as a justice of the peace due to the doctrine of "conflicting-loyalties incompatibility". These are considered separate, incompatible offices, and a person cannot exercise independent judgment in both roles, preventing them from holding both positions at the same time.

Incompatible Roles: The Texas Attorney General has traditionally held that one individual cannot hold two distinct public offices, such as a municipal judge and a justice of the peace, because they are independent and separate offices.

What makes it even more blatant is Mayer driving her city car to attend her JP duties.
